Stone Bench was designed by architect José Luís Carrilho da Graça for First Stone programme.

It will be installed in Carvalhal, providing a new way to relate with the centuries-old rice fields and its ecosystem.

Because of its specific location, this stone bench also becomes a gentle commentary on mobility and equality in the area, welcoming everybody.

Food makes us who we are - both literally, and figuratively. From production to processing to consumption, the way we "do food" can be seen as a manifestation of our relationship with the natural world and as an expression of our culture.

Throughout the fragile bioregion of Tróia to Sines, the theme of sustainable mobility is crucial. Pause creates a new public space designed for us to slow down, stop, and observe nature, stimulating a more environmentally-friendly way of exploring the local geography.
